UK Travel Guide

Your UK travel tour is incomplete, if you don’t visit Edinburgh. In fact it is a place that you can visit twice. That means that it consists of two towns; New Town and Old Town. You need at least two days to explore the beauty of both these towns. If you are in town for Tattoo or some festival, still you should take some time for visiting other places of Edinburgh.

Old Town

Old town of Edinburgh has its own glory. Visiting this place means that you can visit the beautiful and famous sights, just walking distance apart from each other. You can start your morning with a nice and refreshing walk up the Royal Mile. After the walk, enjoy your breakfast at ‘Always Sunday’. Just enjoy the beauty of nature and see the Town waking up. Then later in the day, you can plan your visit to Edinburgh Castle or you can also visit the creepy and fascinating Real Mary King’s Close. Then you can head to Greyfriars Kirkyard. You can find the statue of the faithful and loyal Greyfriars Bobby (the famous dog who stayed by the side of the grave of his master for 14 long years) there. You can explore the imposing tombs and gravestones of this famous and historic graveyard.

Just nearby, you will find National Museum of Scotland where you can get all the information that you want about the art, culture, science and nature of Scotland. This Museum has a superb Tower restaurant where you can enjoy delicious food.

New Town

After exploring the beauty of Old Town of Edinburgh, you can now enjoy your visit to New Town. You can enjoy pleasant walk to Prince Street Gardens. You will be thrilled by the beauty of this place. The streets of the New Town were laid out in late 18th century. This town had the pride of having graceful squares and smart streets. This place is sure to win the heart of shopping lovers. It has city’s finest places to shop and dine.

Royal Yacht Britannia is another place that you must visit. You will be amazed with the beauty of former floating residence of queen.
